Mount Baker Vineyards has a special little place in many hearts. Thanks,
in no small part, to Lynn. My first adventure up to the winery was in spring of
2000 and I’ve been back every year since. I just wait for Lynn to say “its time to go!”
Randy Finley, proprietor extraordinaire, is always there to greet and entertain his guests.
It's a pleasure to hear his stories and insights on the Washington State wine
business. Because Randy is such a gracious host we also laugh at his jokes, mostly.
Occasionally we might come back with some of his wine (by the case).
WashingtonWine.org
writes… “Washington’s Nooksack Valley in the northwest corner of
the state provides a long, mild growing season for the production of varietals favored by
Mount Baker Vineyards.
Chasselas, Madeleine Angevine,
Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Siegerrebe
are grown at the winery. Varietals made from Eastern
Washington fruit include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,
Lemberger and Syrah.” I could have written that myself
but it was easier to cut and paste.
