Photos From Around the Northwest & More

Art work in the Key Club OK, I’ve never been a very big pro basketball fan. I have, however, enjoyed going to a few Sonics games over the years. It helped that the Sonics were playoff contenders the first couple of years that I followed them (1999-2000, 200-2001). I have taken a few pictures at games so I thought I would share them.

Big and LittleThe Sonics have played in Key Arena since 1995. It’s located in the heart of the Seattle Center. It’s a nice place to see a game. It’s also the home of the Seattle Storm, the Sonics WNBA team. I have yet to get to a Storm game but hope to in the not too distant future.

Like all of Seattle’s sports teams the Sonics have a distinctly northwest mascot, Squatch. Squatch is a very hairy Sasquatch type creature who is great at dunking a basketball (off a trampoline, of course) and shooting t-shirts out of an air canon.

One of the best things about Sonics games is the Sonic Dance Team. They’re hot! They perform several times a game and at halftime.
