Seattle sports teams have been fun, if
not a bit frustrating, to watch over the last several years. I went to my
first
Mariners game in
the
Kingdome in May of
1999. I think I went to my first Sonics game the same month. My first
Seahawks had to wait until the
fall of '99.
Over the next couple of years I attended a few games of each
of the three major teams here in Seattle. I had a nice, well balanced,
sampling of local professional sports (hockey and soccer excluded). It
wasn't until 2001 that I veered towards one particular sport. Martha, and
her crew at City Lites Neon, presented me with a 16 game Mariners package
for Christmas 2000. This was the beginning of the end (thanks Martha).
I added a few more games to my package. I
probably went to 25 Mariners games in 2001. I also managed to acquire
tickets to the 2001 All-Star game
in Seattle. That was a lot of fun. Needless to say, I am a fan.
