I'm often asked why I keep going back to Italy. Why not Eastern Europe or somewhere in Asia?
I guess the best answer is I'm not looking for an adventure. Well, not beyond that next great meal or wine.
North Central Italy in the fall has the four things I enjoy most in a holiday; porcini mushrooms, wild boar, truffles and any number of wines made from Sangiovese grapes.
Most importantly we have found a location worth revisiting again and again. The village (and the house) and its people have become the primary driver in what has become an annual pilgrimage.
